CNN Intl hops on PCCW's broadband platform next year

MUMBAI: CNN International will be launching on PCCW's now Broadband TV service in Hong Kong next year.

Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific senior VP and GM Ian Carroll says, “This is an exciting initiative and another step forward in maintaining CNN International as the world's premier international news provider. Over the years we have consistently sought out new opportunities for CNN International and this new partnership represents another development we can be proud of, growing our audience and offering our services on PCCW's dynamic Hong Kong platform ”, he added.

In the Asia Pacific region, CNN International operates from its digital newsroom in Hong Kong . The journalists based in CNN International's Hong Kong regional news hub produce 30 hours of international and regional news and business programming per week, including CNN Today, World News Asia and Spark, while the weekly talk show Talk Asia regularly features the region's hottest guests from Jacky Chan to Aamir Khan, Gloria Arroyo to Rain.

CNN International will feature on the now Broadband TV platform alongside CNN Headline News, the US focussed news service that had been launched in August 2005.

The broadcaster further adds that the Media Brand Values Asia survey 2005 recently confirmed it as the most impartial, influential and trustworthy news channel. In addition, the latest findings of the Pan Asian Cross Media Survey show CNN International is the number one pan-regional channel for business decision makers, top management and high income earners - with more than half a million more monthly viewers than all other news/business channels combined.
