NEW DELHI: The Indian government's fascination for the glitteratti continues and it shows in the reconstitution of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

The new panel now includes film star-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha's wife Poonam Sinha and industrliast Mukesh Ambani's wife Neeta Ambani.

The information and broadcasting ministry has introduced new faces in the panel in exercise of the powers conferred by the sub section (I) of Section 3 of the Cinematograph (Certification) Rules, 1983 and in suppression of the earlier notifications relating to appointment of members.

The 24 new members are Mahendra Mohan, Jagabandhu Mishra, S V Sekhar, T R Jawahar, L Suresh, Ram Kumar, S Ramanujam, Dolendra Prasad, Chukkapalli Suresh, Lt. Gen. (Retd) M A Zaki, Srinath, Baby Ampatt, Ashim Mitra, Pattanakkadu Puroshothaman, Sanjiv Goenka, Prakash Narayan Singh, Shantanu Gogoi, Rajdutt Mayalu, Shekhar Suman, journalist Mrinal Pandey, Poonam Sinha, Neeta Ambani, Vijayalaxmi Vijaya Kumar and Dolly Sohi.

Earlier, in a controversial decision, the ministry had appointed film actress Raveena Tandon as the head of children's film society.
