BBC World Service

LONDON: Maciek Bernatt-Reszczynski has been appointed as head of BBC World Service in Ukraine. He will take up this position on 7 November.

Maciek joined the BBC in 1989 as a producer in the Polish Service and has since had a wide range of experience with BBC World Service. He was the editor of the Polish Service and the producer of a major BBC radio series co-produced with Radio Russia. Most recently he was the European online editor and current affairs editor for Europe.

Maciek worked closely with the Ukrainian team prior to the launch of the Ukrainian Service's website BBCUkrainian.com. He said: "I'm delighted to be joining the BBC's excellent Ukrainian team at the time of fast moving social and political changes in Ukraine.

"Together, we will continue to deliver to the Ukrainian audience in Ukraine and across the world - on radio and online - an objective and attractive programme of domestic news and current affairs presented in the wider regional, European and global context.".
