PARIS: Unfavourable weather conditions at the Spaceport in French Guiana have forced the delay of Arianespace's Flight 159 with the Intelsat 907 satellite payload.

The speed and direction of high altitude winds led Arianespace to stop the launch countdown seven hours before the scheduled liftoff, which had been set for the early morning hours of today, say reports.

The Ariane 44L launch vehicle and its Intelsat 907 spacecraft are being maintained in a safe stand-by mode, says the company. A go-ahead decision for the next launch attempt will be decided based on evolving weather conditions.
