Radio City Bangalore Programming Head Nisha Narayanan quits

BANGALORE: Radio City programming head Nisha Narayanan has put in her papers and will be quitting by end October.

Narayanan plans to return to the capital New Delhi as a media consultant even as FM radio is poised to explode in India, with 338 new channels about to be licensed in 91 cities.

"I have been with Radio City Bangalore for a year now," says Narayanan, while speaking with indiantelevision.com. "I have had an excellent experience of managing the radio market in a South Indian city. Now, with a clearer understanding of both the north and the south market, I want to move back to Delhi, as Delhi is where the action is."

Nisha Narayanan had her first brush with the electronic media as a teenage RJ in the youth channel of AIR, Delhi. After more than a decade of stints as a TV newsreader and presenter, producer, media consultant and head of audiovisual programming for a PR firm, she returned to what she claims is her first love - radio last year.
