ETC to operate as third brand offering of Zee Group

MUMBAI: ETC Networks Ltd, at its 20th annual general meeting yesterday, declared that its two channels, etc Music and ETC channel Punjabi, would function as an additional brand to the two existing brands Zee and Alpha.

The appontment of Zee Group broadcasting CEO Sandeep Goyal as managing director of ETC Networks was endorsed during the AGM, as too the appointment of Goyal, Rajiv Garg, Vikas Gupta and Hema Malini as directors on the ETC board.

Goyal clarified that ETC will be an independent brand and will be leveraged to its fullest extent. "Zee Networks will now have ETC as an additional brand to the two existing brands Zee and Alpha. ETC will be the third brand on the Zee-Turner bouquet." ETC will be distributed under the brand name of 'Alpha ETC' in UK and USA markets.

In his address, Goyal briefly explained the need and benefits of the tie-up between ETC and Zee Telefilms. Goyal said: "As a result of this change, your company will have access to the state of art technology in broadcasting and distribution. Moreover, as part of stronger bouquet of channels the reach of ETC channels will increase manifold in India and international markets. We are all committed to maximise shareholders wealth and grow ETC as media conglomerate making it the undisputed leader in the niche markets."

The two ETC Network channels are etc Music and ETC channel Punjabi. As part of the Zee Network, ETC expects to maintain continuous growth in both these segments, not only in India, but in overseas markets also, an official release says.
