Zee, Star World launching new shows this week

MUMBAI: There are two new launches on television this week. The one that is hogging the limelight is of course Zee's mega serial Awaaz…dil se dil tak. Launching on Star World, meanwhile, is Becker.
Touted as the biggest offering yet from the Zee TV stable, Awaaz…dil se dil tak is produced by Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Antakshari fame Gajendra Singh and directed by Anil Chaudhary and Arvind Babbal. The star cast includes Navni Parihar, Dimple Inamdar, Indu Verma, Ram Kapoor, Pooja Gandhi, Zoya Chaudhary, Rohini Hattangadi, Amit Bahel, Rahul Lohani, Sumera, Uday Tikekar, Yash Sinha.
Starting Sunday at 10 p.m., Awaaz pushes the struggling Kittie Party to a later slot. It is the story of passengers on an ill-fated aircraft that is hijacked and gets marooned on an island in the middle of nowhere. Based on the interactions between the shipwrecked passengers, the show deals with the intricacies of human relationships.

Star World meanwhile, is launching the sitcom Becker. He will be crackling the airwaves with his dry sense of humour at 9:30 on Mondays. Created and executive produced by Dave Hackel and Industry Entertainment in association with Paramount Network Television, Becker stars multiple Emmy Award-winner Ted Danson as Dr John Becker, a dedicated and talented physician with a gruff exterior, who says anything that is on his mind. Those avid watchers of Frasier will have to bid their adieus as Becker is replacing it.
