MUMBAI: The Sagar Arts promoted Sagar Film and TV Academy has just completed its third batch of its three month long comprehensive course in acting.

Spread over 35 acres of land in Vadodara, Gujarat, the academy imparts skills in horse riding, fighting, stunts, dance, yoga and swimming along with coaching students in the Stanislavski theory of method acting and Brecht's theory of alienation. The course, according to an official release, includes lectures on film orientation, workshops on personal development and marketing guest interactions with accomplished actors from the industry, and a weekly film appreciation class.

After incorporating the graduates of the academy into television serials launched by Sagar Arts, the production house now plans to open branches of the Academy in Canada and is in the process of a tie up with the International Instite of Acting for affiliation, which will enable students from different walks of life and varied technical qualifications to join the institute, the release says.
