MTV to go sight seeing in Singapore with 'Spin'

MUMBAI: While the Roadies will be buzzing the television screens in mid October with sights and scenes across India, MTV has plans for some 'phoren darshan' too.

Viacom's music arm has promised to give a lowdown on what's hot and what's not in Singapore its new programme MTV Singapore Spin , which is scheduled to premier on 28 September at 6:00 pm.

Sponsored by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the nine-episode special will offer a lowdown on cool places to party, stylish places to hang out and food joints. The special follows four MTV VJs as they go on a discovery trail of the vibrant tropical island. Each one hour episode will feature Thailand's VJ Utt, Korea's VJ Lee Won, India's VJ Ramona and Taiwan's VJ Gina.
MTV Singapore Spin will air on Sundays at 6:00 pm and repeat on Fridays at 5:00 pm and Saturday at 9:30 pm.

Speaking about the sponsorship STB director brand management Ken Low said: "Singapore is becoming increasingly popular with the young, and the young-at-heart as an exciting destination. With so many events happening, attractions, and activities all packed into one compact island, this program will lend you insight into some of Singapore's best-kept fun and exciting favourite things to do and see. There is certainly so much more in Singapore! MTV's viewership across the many key Asian markets, from India to China, to Korea and Indonesia, also makes MTV Singapore Spin an appropriate platform to share some of Singapore's fun."

Besides the programming initiative, the STB will also be organizing an on-air contest within the show to tempt the viewers. The lucky contest winner will get a win a trip for two to the sunny island.
