Ch-9 Media

MUMBAI: The Ch-9 Media Sdn Bhd. owned Malaysian private television network Channel 9 has tied up with private radio station Thr.fm for telecasting Tamil programmes two hours daily from 1 July.

The programmes will be aired between 4 pm and 6 pm. Kuala Lumpur-based Radio Lebuhraya Sdn Bhd. owns Thr.fm.

Thr.fm chief executive officer Abdul Aziz Hamdan is quoted in media reports as saying that Anaza Sdn Bhd. had acquired a controlling stake in Ch-9 Media Sdn Bhd. The programmes would be more of local Tamil content, rather than routine movies and dramas.

He added that the new management had lined up several interesting entertainment programmes to attract viewers and promised its programmes would satisfy all races. The channel would telecast Hindi power programme between 6pm and 8pm and Malay programmes between 8 pm and 10 pm.
