Filming of Jackie Chan movie stalled in Karnataka

BANGALORE: Filming of the Jackie Chan - Mallika Sherawat starrer The Myth was stopped at the world famous Virupaksha temple by the Archeological Department of the state.

Though permissions were obtained from department such as the archeological survey of India, Hampi world heritage site management authority and the state tourism departments, permission from the directorate of archeology and museums, Karnataka, for shooting inside the sanctum sanctorum hadn't been taken to shoot at this 15th century temple.

Shooting had commenced a few days ago in various sites at Hampi and Chan was very much in evidence in the local press in Karnataka. News of the star helping in clean up at the historical sites at Hampi and articles on the world wide popular actor have been appearing the Bangalore papers recently.

Scenes have been reportedly shot at the Vijaya Vittala Temple complex, near Pampa Sarovar at Anegundi and on the other side of the Tungabhadra. The film unit could however go ahead with shooting near other monuments for which permissions had been obtained from the concerned departments.

Reports say that the film unit has been visitor unfriendly with people being forced to use different paths than the one used by Jackie Chan to reach the shooting venue where press persons and photographers were not allowed to take photos.
