Discovery strengthens Thursday line up with babies, boys toys next month

MUMBAI: Diversity is the name of the game for Discovery as it tries to hook viewers with varied fare. One of them is the series Amazing Baby Videos. The show will air every Thursday at 8:30 pm from 7 April.

Baby lovers will get a kick out of footage that will showcase precocious babies, terrible toddlers. The babies were pre-selected on the basis of their cuteness factor and originality. Interspersed with commentary from a child psychologist the show is both amusing and educational.

For fans of science the channel will kick off the show Massive Engines from 7 April. The show will air every Thursday at 10:30 pm. Hosted by actor and comedian Chris Barrie the series follows the development of engines from their humble beginnings in the 19th century to their status today.

The first episode Racing Car shows the history behind the creation of the BMW. The basic cast iron cylinder block proved to be one of the strongest and most reliable ever designed.

As far as the weekend is concerned the channel will air Conspiracies On Trial every Saturday at 9 pm from 9 April. Using dramatic reconstructions, experiments and historical evidence the show does not ask whether a cover up took place. Instead it examines the scientific possibility of a cover up. The first episode looks at The Death of Pope Paul I. The show relies on the central pieces of evidence to see whether the Pope committed since or if he was assassinated.

Another episode which should excite Christians is called Da Vinci Code Uncracked. The theory that is examined suggests that Jesus had a child with Mary Magdalene and that this child gave rise to the French dynasty. The dynasty remains underground and is protected by a secret society.
