MUMBAI: Kathy Davidov has joined National Geographic Television and Film (NGT&F) as vice president for series. Reporting to NGT&F executive vice president Michael Rosenfeld, Davidov will be responsible for overseeing the series production unit as well as the award-winning National Geographic Explorer series.

"Kathy is a highly experienced television executive who will bring strong editorial and management skills to our series production team. We look forward to seeing her grow this area of our business," said Rosenfeld.

Prior to joining National Geographic, Davidov worked for Discovery Communications Inc. Most recently, she was the executive producer for Discoverys TLC, responsible for editorial direction, supervision and management of original programs and series, from development through delivery.

During her eight years at TLC, she managed more than 500 hours of original programming for shows including Trading Spaces, Junkyard Wars and Maternity Ward. In 1996 she served as senior producer for Discoverys special programming unit and oversaw the production and development for the Great Books and Understanding series, as well as numerous other hard-hitting critically acclaimed specials.

Davidov started her career as a producer for NBC News, based in London. She then worked as a freelance producer, producing US and Canadian news programs for a wide range of broadcasters, including Fashion Television, Channel One, Discovery Channel and National Geographic Television & Film.
