MUMBAI: Fremantle International Distribution (FID), the distribution arm of global production outfit FremantleMedia, has inked a deal with Australian broadcaster ABC to distribute and co-finance its brand new wildlife documentary, Sex In The Bush.
This was announced by Fremantle International Distribution managing director David Ellender.
FID will back the internationally renowned ABC Natural History Unit in its production of the intriguing wildlife series, Sex In The Bush. As part of the deal, FID will handle worldwide television distribution rights to the series (excluding Australia and New Zealand).
Sex In The Bush combines stunning footage with amazing (and sometimes shocking!) stories from passionate wildlife experts and enthusiasts. This time the subject is courtship and reproduction in Australian animals. When it comes to sexual selection, Australia really is a world apart.
These specialists show us why truth really is stranger than fiction. There is the male marsupial mouse who has sex non-stop till he drops dead from exhaustion, versus the ultimate monogamous couple, Mr and Mrs Flatworm, who fuse their bodies together - forever. There are seahorse and emu fathers who do the 'mothering' and kangaroo mothers that abandon their young to die in times of drought, plus many more bizarre but true stories.
Sex In The Bush is a humorous, touching and ultimately very personal look at the battle of the sexes.
