Animal Planet

Animal Planet captures the first 365 days in the life of wild animals, raised by their 'human parents' through a new show Growing Up Wild.

Growing Up Wild will air every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 pm in August and September and will cover various animals from tiger, lion, elephant, rhino, wolf, giraffe, deer, cheetah, leopard, walrus, baboon, camel, orangutan, penguin and polar bear.

Each episode follows the parents and the baby animal, rescued from near-death situations, as they grow and experience the wonders of life. Abandoned and orphaned, these animals are given a chance at survival as human caregivers step in to turn the tragedy into a triumph. Viewers will also witness the mutual affection that develops between the dangerous and ferocious wild animals and their human parents.

According to Animal Planet brand director Raja Balasubramanian, "The show presents absorbing stories of human care givers who have taken on the challenge of raising baby animals. The programme will fascinate viewers with rare footage on the vulnerability of these strong and dangerous animals."
