MUMBAI: World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has announced that it expects world-wide Pay-Per-View (PPV) gross revenues for Wrestlemania XX to be between $40 million and $45 million. In India the event will shortly be airing on Ten Sports.

The WWE issued a release saying that this would be the highest grossing pay-per-view event in its history. WWE's net share is expected to exceed $20 million after revenue-sharing with the cable and satellite providers.

WWE said that its first-week estimate of pay-per-view buys was 825,000. This exceeded the PPV buys for the previous edition of Wrestlemania by 25 per cent. WWE expects that final PPV tallies will be between 900,000 buys to 950,000 buys. The suggested retail price for WrestleMania XX was $49.95 as compared to a suggested retail price of $39.95 for WrestleMania XIX.

The event saw a new champion Canadian grappler Chris Benoit being crowned. He won the triple threat match against Triple H and Shawn Michaels both of whom have held the title several times.
