Vh1 to organise Hip-Hop nights with Flipsyde band

MUMBAI: Since it set its foot in India, Vh1, in the past has orgainsed concerts with the Jazzmasters - Sting, Mark Knopfler and Satriani. To continue with the trend, the channel is now tuning to the four-member Hip-Hop band - Flipsyde's Hip-Hop recipe. The two UK DJs who will provide the flavour are DJ Mentat and DJ Noname. The artistes will display their talents in Mumbai as well as in Delhi.

DJ Mentat who made his debut with 'Rugged Wid It' is said to be the fastest selling in the history of UK Hip Hop.

Hip-Hop trend has been exploring rapidly on the international arena, Vh1 general manager Keertan Adyanthaya said that the channel has lined-up a series of events, starting from 9 November, wherein DJ Mentat will choose the tracks for mixing at the most happening night spot in Mumbai - Enigma and on 12 November at Club Elevate in Delhi.

While on 16 November and 19 November in Mumbai and Delhi respectively, DJ Noname will showcase his talent.

Describing the Hip-Hop band, Adyanthaya adds that the culturally diverse USA's Hip-Hop Flipsyde has shared their melodic hooks to spread a message of social awareness and self-empowerment on 'We The People', which launched their debut album this July.

On 23 November and 26 November, the Hip-Hop band will showcase their harmonious mix of style in Mumbai and Delhi respectively.

In order to spread the fever of Hip-Hop in air, the channel has tied up for radio spots with private FM channels -- Radio Go 92.5 (Mumbai) and Radio City 91 (Delhi). The channel is also doing cross-promotion through MTV Networks as well as on the action channel -AXN.

Vh1 has also tied up with music store - Planet M, where the Hip-Hop Flipsyde band will promote their album 'We The People'.
