LOS ANGELES: Now that the Primtime Emmys are over and done with in Los Angeles, the focus is shifting to the International Emmys organised by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences which are to be held in New York on 24 November.

The nominations for the International Emmys are to be announced at MipCom on 10 October in Cannes, France at a press conference.

The various people slated to address the conference include: International TV Academy president Fred Cohen, International TV Academy chairman and Hearst Entertainment president Bruce Paisner, International Emmy Awards Gala Co-Chairman and President, Paramount International Television Gary Marenzi, International TV Academy, Co-Chairs, Emmy Committee, Regional CEO, US, Australasia and Asia and Fremantle Media Enterprises CEO Catherine Mackay, World International Network, LLC President/COO Larry Gershman.

The conference will be held under the auspices of Paul Zilk
President of Reed-Midem Organization, the organisers of MipCom.

For the first time, thanks to indiantelevision.com entries were sent in for the Peter Ustinov award for young scriptwriters this year. At the board meeting held in Los Angeles in mid-September, the International Emmy board was pleased to hear of the entries.

Now all we have to do is wait and watch if one of them ends up winning.
