MUMBAI: HBO's award winning black comedy Six Feet Under is going from strength to strength in the US. The fourth season of the show kicks off on 13 June. In India the show airs on Zee English.

Using dramatic irony and dark, situational humour, the show approaches the subject of death through the eyes of the Fisher family. They own and operate the Fisher & Diaz Funeral Home in Los Angeles.

At the close of the third season one marriage had come to a tragic end, another was beginning, and a third was on the rocks. The first episode is called Falling Into Place.

The cast includes Peter Krause, Michael C. Hall, Rachel Griffiths, Frances Conroy. The show deals with a family that run a funeral parlour. Guest stars appearing in the fourth season include American Beauty's Mena Suvari, Ellen DeGeneres and Oscar winner Kathy Bates Misery.

HBO issued a release stating that the third season inspired critical raves, with the New York Times calling it required viewing in the canon of pop culture as well as engrossing.
