MUMBAI: Television broadcaster Fox slated six new shows for June. As a part of a strategy to move toward a year-round programming schedule so as to compete with cable networks and other forms of entertainment year-round, the launch comes just after the end of the current season.

Amongst the six shows to be launches five series are new while the sixth The Simple Life is a retooled. The slew of shows set to roll out 8 June onwards comprise two dramas, two comedies and two reality series. Five of the shows would have a repeat each week.

According to media reports, the new model marks a full-fledged shift, after a test last summer when the network launched its hit teen drama The O.C. in August, about a month earlier than normal.

The two new scripted dramas for the series include The Jury, a courtroom drama from director Barry Levinson and writer Tom Fontana and an ensemble show set, which involves the lives and loves of young people, in a Hawaiian hotel, North Shore. While The Jury will air Tuesdays at 9 PM, while North Shore will run on Mondays at 8 PM

Quintuplets, a comedy about 15-year-old siblings starring former Conan O'Brien sidekick Andy Richter as a harried father of five, will air Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m and Method & Red, is a fish-out-of-water concept starring rappers Method Man and Redman as residents of an upscale community, will air Wednesdays at 9:30 PM

A reality series about the relaunch of a Las Vegas casino The Casino - the latest unscripted one-hour series from producer Mark Burnett- will start airing on 14 June every Mondays at 8 pm. While The Simple Life 2, starring socialites Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie- self-deprecating party girls will air Wednesdays starting 16 June from at 9 pm.

The media reports also indicate that Fox would be premiering additional shows in July, September and January.
