Based on the book series ‘Chief Inspector Barnaby’ by author Caroline Graham (considered Agatha Christie’s chief rival), Midsomer Murders chronicles the lives of Midsomer residents who are in the midst of sordid murder mysteries with a staggering number of 300 deaths and counting. The investigation is led by the good-hearted but rough around the edges Detective Chief Inspector Barnaby.

Midsomer Murders aired first in the late 1990s and immediately gained popularity worldwide.
