Retrospectives of Barua and Adoor Gopalakrishnan at Paris Autumn Fest

MUMBAI: As a tribute to Indian cinema, the 40th edition of the Paris Autumn Festival will screen films of Jahnu Barua and Adoor Gopalakrishnan in the ‘North East by South West’ section from 25 October to 20 December.

The retrospective will have 12 films directed by Barua and a number of documentaries and feature films of Gopalakrishnan.

The films of Jahnu Barua are Aparoopa, Kahani Ek, Papori, Halodhia Choraye Baodhan Khai, Bonani, Firingoti, Porte Bohu Xagoroloi, Kuhkhal, Pokhi, Ramdhem Konikar, Tora and Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara.

 
One’s Own Choice, Rat Trap, Face to Face, Monologue, Walls, The Servile, The Protagonist, Shadow Kill, Four Women and A Climate for Crime comprise the films of Adoor Gopalakrishnan.

Paris Autumn Festival, founded in 1972, is a festival of contemporary arts that presents original and experimental works. Every year, from September to December, the festival features over 40 events for a total audience of more than 100, 000.
