Ayesha Takia

MUMBAI: The third edition of the International Film Festival Ahmedabad (IFFA) will now go underway on 6 October, and not on 25 August, as scheduled earlier.

Accordingly, Ketan Mehta‘a Rang Rasiya that was to be the opening film of the festival has been replaced by Nagesh Kukunoor‘s latest film Mod.

Mod, based on a Taiwanese film Keeping Watch, is a suspense drama that stars Ayesha Takia opposite Rannvijay Singh. The director was highly touched by the Taiwanese film and instantly decided to remake it for the Indian audiences by buying its rights.

Anurag Kashyap‘s That Girl in Yellow Boots will be the closing film of the Festival. Written by Anurag Kashyap and Kalki Koechlin, the film stars Kalki Koechlin as Ruth along with Naseeruddin Shah, Prashant Prakash, Gulshan Devaiya, Shivkumar Subramaniam, Divya Jagdale, Kumud Mishra and Kartik Krishnan.

Five films from the line-up of the festival will get a limited release under PVR‘s new label, Director‘s Cut & Director‘s Rare.
