MUMBAI: Sri Lanka Tea Board has inked a three year sponsorship deal with Sri Lanka Cricket.

The deal is worth Sri Lankan Rs 530 million for three years.

At the launch event Sri Lanka minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage said that this is the first time that Sri Lanka cricket has sought the sponsorship of a state institution.

The emblem of the Sri Lanka tea board will be displayed on the t-shirts of Sri Lanka cricketers during matches.

The Tea Board‘s sponsorship starts with the Tri-series in the West Indies that begins on 28 June. India is also playing in the series.
