Tata Sky removes lock-in period

MUMBAI: The leading DTH operator Tata Sky has removed the lock-in period on all of its channels and channel packs. Following the move, subscribers would be able to freely add and drop channels without worrying about the lock-in period.

TRAI vs DTH operators: Delhi High Court adjourns tariff order matter to 15 May

The Delhi High Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing of the petition of top DTH operators Tata Sky, Airtel Digital TV, Sun Direct and broadcaster Discovery India Communication challenging Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and its new tariff regime, to 15 May.

TRAI directs DTH operators to stop migrating LDP subscribers until validity ends

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), in a notice dated 1 May, directed the country’s leading direct-to-home (DTH) operators to ensure compliance with all provisions of its new tariff order for the broadcast and cable TV services sector.

When the new TRAI tariff order came into the picture, DTH operators started churning out various packs to ensure customers don’t cut off their connections. The move didn’t go down well with customers. Now, Tata Sky has removed the lock-in period condition.
