  • BloombergUTV announces CXO AWARDS 2011

    Mumbai: BloombergUTV, India‘s premier business channel, today, presented the technology champions for the year 2011 at the ‘The CXO Awards 2011. The awards are aimed at honouring and applauding the efforts of renowned leaders and the rising stars that have made a maximum impact through their initiatives. The CXO Awards 2011 will revolve around Technology and how it has made a difference to the business and social growth.

    Mr. S Ramadorai, Vice-Chairman, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., was the Chief Guest at the glittering function held to present the awards. A total of 15 awards were given away under six categories viz., Education Project Implementation, SME & Large Enterprises, Government Project Implementation, Individual, Industry Awards and a new category ‘People‘s Choice Award. The list of awardees under eachcategory is annexed along with.

    Mr. S Ramadorai, in his key note address said, "From the Indian perspective the future belongs to those that recognize the power of IT to deliver reach, scale, predictability and replicability not just for their own business but to impact the lives of millions of people. Digital inclusion and leveraging of technology would drive its adoption, and increase access and affordability for our citizens enabling information and knowledge equity."

    A Jury Panel comprising of Mr. Keki Mistry, Vice Chairman & CEO, HDFC Ltd., Dr. Ganesh Natarajan, Vice Chairman & CEO, Zensar Technologies, Mr. S Mahalingam, CFO & ED, TCS, Ms. Kiran Bedi, Social Activist & Former IPS Officer, Mr. Sukumar Ranganathan, Editor, Mint, Mr. Avinash Vashistha, CMD, Accenture, Mr. Ashank Desai, Co - Founder & Advisor, Mastek and Mr.Harish Mehta, CMD, Onward Technologies Limited selected the winners from the top contenders in each category.

    Mr. Deepak Lamba, Business Head - BloombergUTV speaking on the occasion said, "Technology plays a critical role in moving the economy forward, and this is evident in the way technology has transformed many sectors such as BFSI and telecom. We also see technology having a dramatic social impact in areas like education and financial inclusion.
