The BCCI India rights conundrum |

With BCCI's upcoming India media rights in March, big broadcasters and digital players are ready with their cash trove.
The current holder Star India acquired the rights in 2012 at Rs 3851 crore for the six-year period for 96 matches. It comes down to an average of Rs 43 crore per match. Multi Screen Media (Sony) bid a close second with Rs 3700 crore.

Discovery Communications to move global headquarters to New York |
Discovery Communications, in a recent release, has announced plans to relocate its global headquarters from Silver Spring, Maryland, to New York City in 2019. Contingent upon the closing of the company's acquisition of Scripps Networks Interactive, Discovery also will establish a National Operations Headquarters at Scripps' current campus in Knoxville, Tennessee.

GST fails to spoil Food Food's party |
When largely all television channels were struggling in the aftermath of the goods and services tax (GST) implementation, Food Food channel remained insulated from all the brouhaha. Celebrity chef and promoter Sanjeev Kapoor, speaking to Indiantelevision.com, said that the channel he co-founded saw no adverse impact of the tax that has been the bane of existence of many media companies.
