Govt cracks whip on use of tobacco products in media
Government directs all films and TV shows made before 14 Nov 2011 and showing consumption of tobacco or liquor will have to mandatorily display anti-tobacco health spots.

I&B asks TV channels to avoid programmes on superstition
Govt advises TV channels to stop telecast of programmes promoting superstitions and blind belief as they promote irrationality and hinder the development of scientific temper.

Pending TV channel applicants given 3 months to comply with new guidelines
All applications will be given 3 months to ‘ensure conformity’ to the new Uplinking and Downlinking Guidelines; applicants will also have to give an undertaking to abide by guidelines.
