Google brings Gemini into Kaun Banega Crorepati this season
AI hints, QR-code trivia and a 16-question quiz turn KBC into an interactive experience
MUMBAI: KBC is putting a new lifeline on the line, and this one comes with an AI twist as Google brings Gemini into Kaun Banega Crorepati this season.
The integration gives Gemini a role beyond helping contestants on the hot seat, bringing AI-powered hints, interactive quizzes and on-screen trivia to viewers watching the show from home. Google India said millions of registration-related queries have already been answered on Gemini as audiences prepared for the new season.
The biggest addition for contestants is Sanket Suchak, a Gemini-powered lifeline designed to help them tackle tricky questions. Rather than simply revealing an answer, Gemini provides hints that are intended to help contestants reason their way towards the correct option. Viewers playing along at home can use the same approach.
The AI also gets its own spot in the show’s trivia action. During a dedicated segment, Amitabh Bachchan will pose an interesting question to Gemini, while a QR code appears on screen. Viewers can scan it to access the answer through the Gemini app and then continue exploring the subject by asking follow-up questions.
For those who want more than just bragging rights, Google has introduced Sanket Sawaal. Viewers can answer daily questions with Gemini-assisted hints, with top participants getting a chance to be invited to experience KBC from the live studio audience.
Gemini is also turning the programme into a standalone quiz experience. Viewers can prompt Gemini with “Start the @KBC quiz” to launch an interactive 16-question KBC quiz. The format allows participants to ask follow-up questions and dig deeper into the topics behind the answers rather than simply moving from one question to the next.
For Google, KBC offers a mass entertainment setting in which Gemini can demonstrate how its AI assistant can be used beyond conventional search or individual productivity. For the show, meanwhile, the partnership adds a digital layer to a format built around questions and audience participation.
The result is a KBC experience that stretches beyond the television screen. Contestants can get AI-assisted hints, viewers can scan, answer and explore, and quiz enthusiasts can take on 16 questions of their own putting Gemini closer to the action without taking the hot seat itself.
