CNN-News18 to air week-long BRICS Summit special from September 7

MUMBAI: When the world order is shifting, the news cycle is bound to follow suit. As India gets ready to host the 18th BRICS Summit on September 12–13, CNN-News18 is lining up a week-long programming special, ‘BRICS: Bharat’s Moment’, running from September 7 to 13 across linear TV, CTV and YouTube.

The coverage will look beyond the summit schedule to the diplomatic manoeuvring, competing interests and geopolitical shifts surrounding BRICS, while keeping the spotlight firmly on what India’s role could mean for the grouping and the wider global order.

As part of the programming, CNN-News18 will run a dedicated BRICS Bulletin + Reporter through the week, combining a fast-paced news capsule with ground reports and analysis by Siddhant Mishra. From September 7 to 10, Take Three Special: The Inside Track will air daily at 4:30 PM, focusing on the summit’s internal diplomatic dynamics and the conversations shaping the run-up to the main event.

The coverage will then move into three special editions of Take Three: The BRICS View on September 11, 12 and 13, anchored separately by Rahul Shivshankar, Anand Narasimhan and Shawan Sen. The editions will bring together experts and panel discussions, including perspectives from international partners Sputnik and CGTN, to examine the major issues and debates around the summit.

CNN-News18 is also adding a cross-border layer to the coverage with a joint global broadcast with Sputnik and CGTN from September 11 to 13. The format will bring together perspectives from India and its international partners as developments unfold during the summit.

The editorial focus of the week is built around a straightforward geopolitical question: with the global order changing and BRICS itself evolving, where does India fit into what comes next? The programming will therefore track both the immediate summit developments and the larger implications for India and the world.
