Vidyuth Bhandary joins Collective Studios as executive vice president and business head
Media veteran with over 28 years in Indian entertainment takes charge of business, operations and production across the studios
MUMBAI: Twenty-eight years, a clutch of the biggest names in Indian media and one fresh brief. Vidyuth Bhandary is back in the hot seat, three months into his new role as executive vice president and business head at Collective Studios.
Bhandary is responsible for business, operations and production across Collective Studios. He oversees the development and execution of content across its various studios, a remit that reaches from the first idea to the finished show.
He arrives with a record few in the industry can match. A seasoned and dynamic business professional, Bhandary has over 28 years of experience and a demonstrated understanding of the entertainment business in India. His work spans OTT and digital, television broadcasting, content production, marketing and advertising.
The employers read like a who’s who of Indian media and entertainment. Bhandary has held senior leadership and management positions at Star, Fremantle Media, Times Group (BCCL), Turner International, Miditech and Reliance Entertainment. Few executives have seen the business from so many sides: the broadcaster, the producer, the marketer and the platform.
That breadth matters. Indian entertainment is being remade by streaming, and studios that can pair creative ambition with commercial discipline stand to win. A leader who has run P&Ls, launched brands and produced content at scale is the sort of hire that signals intent. At Collective Studios, Bhandary’s job is to turn that experience into a slate of content across its studios.
Marking three months in the role, Bhandary shared a quick update on his move to Collective Studios.
