MUMBAI: Time appears to be ticking in Timex Group India’s favour. The watchmaker delivered a strong opening quarter for FY27, reporting sharp growth in revenue and profit as higher sales and disciplined cost management helped offset rising input costs.

For the quarter ended 30 June 2026, revenue from operations rose 29.6 per cent year on year to Rs 218.90 crore, compared with Rs 168.94 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Including other income of Rs 0.55 crore, total income increased to Rs 219.45 crore, up from Rs 169.25 crore a year earlier.

The company reported profit before tax of Rs 33.78 crore, surging 70.1 per cent from Rs 19.87 crore in the first quarter of FY26.

After a tax outgo of Rs 8.76 crore, net profit climbed 70.6 per cent to Rs 25.02 crore, compared with Rs 14.67 crore in the year-ago quarter.

Total comprehensive income also stood at Rs 25.02 crore, unchanged from net profit after there was no material other comprehensive income during the quarter.

The company incurred total expenses of Rs 185.67 crore, up from Rs 149.38 crore in the corresponding quarter last year as production and sales volumes increased.

The cost of materials consumed rose sharply to Rs 155.01 crore, compared with Rs 91.00 crore a year ago. Employee benefit expenses increased to Rs 16.42 crore from Rs 14.06 crore, while other expenses rose to Rs 46.66 crore from Rs 37.80 crore.

The company also reported inventory gains of Rs 21.96 crore, compared with Rs 31.81 crore in the year-ago quarter, reflecting changes in finished goods, work-in-progress and stock-in-trade.

Reflecting the stronger earnings performance, basic and diluted earnings per share improved to Rs 2.44, up from Rs 1.33 in the corresponding quarter of FY26.

Compared with the preceding quarter ended March 2026, revenue eased from Rs 235.20 crore while net profit declined from Rs 27.34 crore, indicating some sequential moderation after a stronger fourth quarter.

The latest numbers suggest Timex Group India has entered FY27 on a solid footing. While input costs rose sharply, the company translated robust demand into significantly higher profitability, signalling that its watch portfolio continues to find favour with consumers in an increasingly competitive lifestyle accessories market.
