SwitchOn raises $8 million pre-Series B to expand AI-powered factory inspection globally
IvyCap Ventures-led funding will fuel R&D, overseas growth and manufacturing AI deployments
BENGALURU: Switching gears from the factory floor to the funding trail, SwitchOn has raised $8 million (around Rs 78 crore) in a pre-Series B funding round led by IvyCap Ventures to accelerate its global expansion and strengthen its artificial intelligence capabilities for manufacturing.
The round also saw participation from SIG Tattva and Trifecta Capital. The Bengaluru-based startup said the fresh capital will be used to expand internationally, deepen research and development in next-generation Physical AI and scale its go-to-market operations across key manufacturing sectors.
Founded by Aniruddha Banerjee and Avra Banerjee, the company develops AI-powered quality inspection systems that integrate directly with manufacturing equipment. Its flagship platform, DeepInspect, uses edge-based computer vision to identify surface defects with sub-150-micron precision at production speeds of more than 1,200 products per minute. The company claims the system delivers over 99 per cent detection accuracy while reducing quality inspection costs by up to 50 per cent.
Since deploying its first production systems in 2021, SwitchOn has expanded to more than 170 production lines across over 60 manufacturing facilities on four continents. Its customers include Unilever, Bosch, Maruti Suzuki and ALPA, serving industries such as consumer goods, electronics, automotive and pharmaceuticals.
“We are grateful for the confidence that IvyCap Ventures, SIG Tattva and Trifecta Capital have placed in our vision. Manufacturing is the backbone of the global economy, yet quality inspection has remained stubbornly manual for decades. Physical AI changes that equation entirely,” said SwitchOn co-founder, Aniruddha Banerjee. He said the company’s long-term goal is to make zero-defect manufacturing a reality across factories worldwide.
Backing the investment, IvyCap Ventures founder and managing partner, Vikram Gupta, said SwitchOn had built a globally relevant Physical AI platform addressing a critical challenge in modern manufacturing through strong technology and execution.
SIG Tattva founder, Shashvat Somany, said quality inspection remains one of the last largely manual processes on factory floors and described Physical AI as a technology that could redefine industrial production. Meanwhile, Trifecta Capital director, venture debt, Abhijit Joshi, highlighted the founders’ technical expertise and the company’s intellectual property-led approach to solving quality control challenges for global manufacturers.
The latest funding follows SwitchOn’s $1.1 million seed round and $4.2 million Series A raise, reflecting growing investor confidence in industrial AI. As manufacturers increasingly automate production lines, the company is positioning its technology to support India’s manufacturing ambitions while expanding its footprint across global markets.
