GREATER DELHI: Renaissa Ghosh Papnai has a new corner office, and a bigger story to tell. The communications leader has been appointed India marketing and communications head at Hitachi Digital, taking charge of the marketing and communications charter for one of the group’s fastest-growing markets.

An innate storyteller and strategic marketing and communications leader, Ghosh Papnai brings more than 15 years of experience in driving narratives, brand transformation and stakeholder engagement across global organisations. Her remit spans integrated communications and marketing strategy, brand positioning, employee and executive communications, and high-impact experiences that accelerate business outcomes, foster culture and strengthen market presence.

Her expertise runs deep: corporate communications, both internal and external, leadership positioning, employer branding, employee engagement, public relations and integrated campaign strategy. She thrives at the intersection of business, brand and storytelling, turning complex ideas into compelling narratives that inspire action, influence perception and create measurable impact.

Ghosh Papnai has led large-scale strategic initiatives, built high-performing campaigns and partnered with global leadership teams to drive organisational growth and transformation. She combines business acumen, creative thinking and operational excellence, with an appreciation for both strategy and execution.

Her own philosophy is simple. Great brands are built through authentic stories, meaningful experiences and bold ideas, and she is passionate about creating all three.

Career: from book launches to boardroom brand

Ghosh Papnai’s path has been anything but linear, and all the richer for it. She began as an intern at Sahara India in 2011, before joining Value 360 Communications in 2012 as associate, media and communication. There she handled public relations and client servicing for brands including ASUS, Kaun Banega Crorepati, Sony Liv, BSNL Penta, Newshunt, Trend Micro, Snaplion, Gupshup and Envent.

She then moved into publishing. At Om Books International (December 2013 to August 2014), she managed media relations, social media, online campaigns, book launches and conferences, working on projects with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra (Rang De Basanti) and Hrithik Roshan (To Dad, With Love!).

At Rupa Publications India and Aleph Book Company (August 2014 to November 2015), she handled publicity, promotion and public relations, and helped organise book launches, discussions, conferences, book fairs and literature festivals across the country. Among her major projects were titles by Pranab Mukherjee (The Dramatic Decade: The Indira Gandhi Years), Chetan Bhagat (Half Girlfriend), Vinod Rai (Not Just an Accountant), Shashi Tharoor (India Shastra), Ayushmann Khurrana (Cracking the Code), Ronnie Screwvala (Dream with Your Eyes Open) and Ruskin Bond (Gathering of Friends).

At NXP Semiconductors (November 2015 to October 2017), she worked in PR and corporate communications. She built monthly publicity, PR and branding strategy, coordinated with the PR agency, managed media interviews and speaker opportunities for top management, and drove CSR initiatives and internal and external events. She also contributed regularly to the global NXP newsletter, NXP NOW, and conceptualised and launched NXP Bridge, a monthly newsletter shared with employees across India.

At Fiserv (October 2017 to August 2019), as specialist, branding and communications, she implemented internal communication strategies that lifted employee satisfaction and engagement scores by 20 per cent. She also strengthened brand visibility through public forums, sponsorships and industry collaborations, conceptualised CSR campaigns including skill-building workshops and environmental drives, and delivered newsletters, corporate videos and employee recognition programmes.

She joined Hitachi Digital in August 2019 as assistant manager, marketing communications, and rose to deputy manager, marketing and communications in January 2023. She became internal communications lead for India in January 2025 and, from April 2026, takes on her current role as India marketing and communications head, based in Noida.
