Nikon launches Z5IIC full-frame mirrorless camera at Rs 1.4 lakh

NEW DELHI: Nikon India has expanded its full-frame mirrorless portfolio with the launch of the Nikon Z5IIC, a Z-mount camera designed to make full-frame photography and video more accessible to first-time users and content creators.

Priced at an MRP of Rs 1,39,995 for the body only, the camera will be available across India from mid-October 2026 through Nikon outlets.

The Z5IIC combines a full-frame sensor with automated shooting features, creator-focused video tools and Nikon’s EXPEED 7 image-processing engine. The camera is positioned for lifestyle, travel, technology and short-form content creators, as well as enthusiasts moving up from APS-C cameras.

The Z5IIC is Nikon’s first full-frame mirrorless camera to feature scene modes on its mode dial. It offers 15 scene options covering subjects such as portraits, pets and food, along with more demanding situations including night landscapes and twilight.

Selecting a scene automatically adjusts more than six settings, including white balance and Picture Control. Users can also register Nikon’s Imaging Recipes, along with presets created by creators, and access them through a dedicated button.

Nikon India managing director Sajjan Kumar said the camera is designed for creators looking to move to a full-frame mirrorless system, while also offering features suited to video production and short-form content.

The camera features Nikon’s AI-powered autofocus system, which uses deep-learning technology to detect 10 subject types. In Auto mode, it can also recognise subjects and scenes and automatically adjust settings such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO sensitivity and autofocus.

The Z5IIC can acquire focus down to -10 EV, supporting shooting in low-light environments such as concerts, dinner events and night street scenes.

For handheld shooting, the camera uses five-axis in-body Vibration Reduction, offering up to 7.5 stops of compensation at the centre of the frame under specified testing conditions.

The Z5IIC supports 4K UHD video recording at up to 60 frames per second and Full HD recording at up to 120 fps. It also offers 4x and 5x slow-motion recording for short-form content.

A Product Review Mode automatically shifts focus to an item brought close to the camera, while a REC lamp and red frame indicator provide a clear visual cue when recording is underway.

The camera can also function as a webcam through a direct USB connection to a PC and supports H.265 10-bit recording and Nikon’s N-Log format for more advanced video workflows.

The Z5IIC uses a backside-illuminated CMOS sensor and Nikon’s EXPEED 7 processor. Combined with NIKKOR Z lenses, the system is designed to deliver high-quality stills and video, including improved detail in low-light scenes and natural background blur.

The camera also includes a Film Grain function for a more nostalgic visual look.

Its 3.2-inch vari-angle touchscreen supports touch controls for playback, focusing and shutter release. The body is designed with dust- and drip-resistance in mind and uses magnesium alloy in key areas.

The Z5IIC will be offered in black and silver finishes.

Other features include continuous shooting at up to approximately 14 frames per second and Pre-Release Capture, which can record up to one second before the shutter is released, with High-Speed Frame Capture + supporting shooting at up to 30 fps.

The camera also supports N-RAW video recording to an SD card, Nikon Imaging Cloud and SnapBridge for image transfer and additional photography learning tools.

With the Z5IIC, Nikon is targeting a wider creator audience with a full-frame system that combines automated shooting with more advanced photography and video capabilities, while keeping the entry point below some of its higher-end professional models.
