MUMBAI: McCain Foods has elevated Aditya Krishna to managing director, McCain Foods India, as the company reshuffles its leadership team in the country.

Krishna succeeds Mainak Dhar, who is moving to a new leadership role within the company. Avishek Kar has also been elevated to commercial head, McCain Foods India, taking over from Krishna.

Krishna brings nearly two decades of experience across sales and marketing in India and Southeast Asia, most of it with Mondelez International. He joined McCain Foods India more than three years ago as commercial director, where he was responsible for its retail business as well as brand and consumer initiatives.

In his new role, Krishna will oversee McCain Foods India’s overall business, including its partnerships with growers and the company’s work on developing French Fries potato varieties suited to Indian growing conditions.

Before joining McCain, Krishna spent more than 10 years at Mondelez International in roles spanning sales, customer marketing, category management, innovation and brand activation.

His experience at the company included leading sales for West India, overseeing customer and trade marketing across categories, and managing the cocoa beverages portfolio, including Bournvita. He also worked on innovation and product launches across India and Southeast Asia.

Krishna holds an MBA in marketing from XLRI Jamshedpur.

The leadership changes come as McCain Foods continues to expand its presence in India’s frozen food market, with Krishna now taking charge of the company’s next phase of growth.
