MUMBAI: Ten years of Jio has brought birthday wishes from across India’s brand universe, with companies turning to social media to mark a decade that has reshaped how the country connects.

Jio turned 10 on September 5, with brands from technology, entertainment, sports, food delivery and digital payments joining the celebrations.

The messages came in different styles, reflecting each brand’s personality. Some leaned into nostalgia and humour, while others used familiar characters, cricket banter and playful references to mark Jio’s milestone.

Prime Video India borrowed from the world of Panchayat for a Pradhan Ji-style birthday message, giving Jio a celebration with a distinctly desi touch.

Netflix brought its own unmistakable brand voice to the occasion.

While OnePlus treated the milestone as a relationship anniversary.

Cricket brands had their own innings of birthday banter.

Kolkata Knight Riders called it a “Besh bhalo innings”.

The Delhi Capitals brought the celebrations closer to home.

Punjab Kings made the occasion king-sized, while Rajasthan Royals brought its “Halla Bol” spirit to the birthday wishes.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru marked the decade by celebrating 10 years of playing bold, breaking barriers and setting benchmarks.

The food and payments ecosystem was equally quick to join the party.

Zomato brought a birthday cake into the picture, using its familiar food-first personality to celebrate the milestone.

Swiggy kept its message short and unmistakably Swiggy with a simple: “Bhai, party?”

Paytm also joined the celebrations, reflecting on a decade in which connectivity has increasingly become part of how Indians pay, shop, watch, travel and manage everyday life.

Different brands, different voices, but the messages pointed to the same larger shift.

What began as a major push into India’s telecom market has grown into a digital ecosystem that touches communication, entertainment, commerce, payments, work and everyday life. Jio now connects more than 500 million customers.

The brand’s 10th anniversary therefore offered companies across sectors an opportunity to reflect not just on Jio’s growth, but on how India’s digital habits have changed alongside it.

For consumers, the past decade has meant more ways to communicate, consume content, make payments, shop, work and stay connected. For brands, Jio’s expansion has created another layer of India’s rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.

The anniversary celebrations also underlined the relationships built between Jio and brands across industries, from Prime Video India and Netflix to Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Zomato, Swiggy and Paytm.

A decade after its launch, Jio’s birthday has become a reflection of the digital journey it helped accelerate, with the latest round of wishes showing just how widely that journey now cuts across Indian business and popular culture.
