Mumbai: Hyundai Motor India and Jio-bp have partnered to integrate their electric vehicle charging networks, giving EV users access to more than 37,000 public charging points across India through the myHyundai app.

The integration adds more than 7,000 Jio-bp pulse charging points across over 300 cities to Hyundai Motor India’s existing charging ecosystem. The move is aimed at making public charging easier to find and access through a single digital platform.

The expanded network includes Jio-bp’s high-capacity DC fast chargers, ranging from 60kW to 480kW. The company said its network has an uptime of 96 per cent, while a significant number of its charging stations are located along major national highways to support long-distance EV travel.

The myHyundai app will allow EV users to discover and access the integrated charging network. The platform is not restricted to Hyundai vehicles, with EV owners across brands able to use available charging points through the app.

Hyundai Motor India executive director and function head, corporate planning Hyun Sup Lee said the partnership addresses the growing importance of accessible and reliable charging infrastructure as EV adoption expands in India.

Jio-bp chairman Sarthak Behuria said the partnership would combine the company’s nationwide charging network with Hyundai’s EV ecosystem, while Jio-bp CEO Akshay Wadhwa highlighted the importance of charger reliability alongside availability for EV users.

As part of the collaboration, Hyundai Motor India’s own DC fast-charging network will also gradually become available on the Jio-bp pulse charge pro app. This includes its 183 operational charging stations as well as future installations.

Hyundai Motor India plans to significantly expand its proprietary fast-charging infrastructure, taking the network from 183 stations currently to 600 stations by 2030.

The partnership comes as India’s EV market moves beyond the initial concern over vehicle range towards a broader question of charging access. By combining two networks and bringing them closer to a single digital interface, Hyundai and Jio-bp are looking to make that charging journey a little less of a roadblock.
