Bengaluru: Shopping carts just got a little lighter on the wallet. Flipkart Group has launched Flipkart Pay Later, a new embedded credit solution that offers customers flexible repayment options across its platforms, including Myntra and Flipkart Minutes.

Developed in partnership with PayU Finance, the offering aims to make digital credit more accessible by integrating financing directly into the checkout experience. Customers can choose from three repayment options: Pay Later with up to 30 days to repay, Pay in 3 for interest-free instalments, and EMIs ranging from three to 12 months for higher-value purchases.

The new credit facility is available for a wide range of purchases, from everyday essentials ordered through Flipkart Minutes to fashion, beauty, home products and general merchandise. It also covers premium categories such as smartphones, electronics, appliances and furniture, where longer repayment periods can improve affordability.

The programme is being launched with PayU Finance as its first lending partner. While PayU Finance will serve as the licensed lender, Flipkart Finance will manage customer relationships and leverage its commerce intelligence to support credit assessment. The company said it plans to add more financial institution partners as the programme expands.

According to Flipkart, credit decisions are powered by its commerce data, including transaction history, shopping patterns and platform behaviour, combined with PayU Finance’s lending and risk management capabilities. The company said this approach is designed to enable faster underwriting while ensuring customers are not overleveraged.

The launch marks another step in Flipkart’s broader push into financial services as it seeks to build a digital credit ecosystem tailored to Indian consumers. By embedding financing into the shopping journey, the company aims to make both routine purchases and higher-value products more accessible while expanding responsible access to formal credit.
