Amit Bajaj joins Aon as head of regional marketing and events for GCC

The marketing leader moves from Guardian Life after more than seven years across communications, brand strategy and CSR

MUMBAI: Amit Bajaj has joined Aon as head of regional marketing and events for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), taking on a role focused on strengthening the company’s marketing and communications capabilities.

Bajaj announced the appointment in a LinkedIn post, saying he was joining at an important juncture for the organisation, with an opportunity to build and reshape how its marketing and communications GCC function supports growth and execution across the wider communications organisation.

He will work with colleagues across regions to bring strategy closer to execution and develop capabilities that deliver impact at scale. Bajaj also acknowledged James Gatoff, Shiney Prasad and Liz Peterson for the opportunity.

Bajaj moves to Aon from Guardian Life, where he spent more than seven years in leadership roles spanning marketing, communications, corporate reputation and corporate social responsibility. Most recently, he served as head of marketing and communications and CSR for India from January 2025 to September 2026.

During his tenure at Guardian Life, Bajaj led marketing and communications initiatives aligned with global strategy and local business priorities. His responsibilities included corporate communications, crisis management, leadership messaging, digital marketing, performance campaigns, brand experience, research and insights, and large-scale events.

He previously served as head of marketing and communications and equity and inclusion for India, and head of communications for India.

Before Guardian Life, Bajaj worked at Nissan Motor Corporation as content strategy head for Africa, the Middle East and India from 2018 to 2019. He also served as country general manager for brand image and digital at Michelin from 2016 to 2018, leading brand strategy, digital initiatives, media engagement and communications in India.

His experience spans brand building, reputation management, digital strategy, stakeholder engagement and integrated marketing, bringing a mix of corporate and consumer-facing expertise to his new role at Aon.

Bajaj holds a postgraduate qualification in advertising and public relations from MICA, The School of Ideas. His appointment adds to his career across insurance, automotive and mobility brands, with a focus on connecting marketing strategy, communications and business execution.
