A.R. Rahman launches ARR Immersive app on Apple Vision Pro
New app brings Le Musk content, immersive performances and concert experiences to spatial computing
MUMBAI: A.R. Rahman is striking a new chord, this time in spatial computing. The Oscar-winning composer has announced the launch of ARR Immersive, a new app for Apple Vision Pro that brings together immersive storytelling, music and performance experiences.
The app will debut on July 22 and marks the latest chapter in A.R. Rahman’s exploration of immersive entertainment, a journey that began with Le Musk, the 360-degree virtual reality film that premiered at the Cannes XR Festival.
For the first time, selected content from Le Musk has been adapted for Apple Vision Pro, with sequences re-edited to take advantage of the headset’s spatial viewing capabilities.
Alongside Le Musk, the app introduces original immersive experiences created exclusively for the platform. These include three Kathak dance performances that blend Western classical compositions with Indian classical dance traditions. The performances feature Pranith AP, Palak Chauhan and Mudra IV, with choreography by Shrita Baskar.
The launch library also includes ARR Live, a dedicated section showcasing Rahman’s concert performances. Additional immersive experiences are currently in production and will be added through future updates.
Speaking about the project, Rahman said the app was designed to move beyond traditional listening and viewing experiences by allowing audiences to feel present within the music and storytelling. He described immersive technology as a new creative canvas capable of making artistic experiences more personal and emotionally engaging.
The app will be available through the Apple App Store for Apple Vision Pro at launch. Rahman also confirmed that ARR Immersive will expand to Meta Quest in the future, extending the experience to a wider audience.
With ARR Immersive, Rahman continues to push the boundaries of music and technology, bringing a decade of experimentation in immersive storytelling to one of the newest platforms in spatial computing.
