Instamart launches ‘Switch’ campaign to challenge everyday buying habits
Swiggy campaign encourages consumers to explore alternatives instead of sticking to familiar products
MUMBAI: Same snack, same shelf, same shopping routine, Instamart wants consumers to break the cycle with a little switch. Swiggy’s quick-commerce platform Instamart has launched ‘Switch’, a campaign encouraging consumers to reconsider products they buy out of habit and explore alternatives across everyday categories.
The campaign takes aim at a familiar shopping behaviour: sticking with what you know simply because you have always bought it. Its central film turns that idea into a comic exchange involving a woman and her long-standing attachment to the same packet of namkeen.
The woman appears to be reminiscing about years of sharing tea with her husband, only for the scene to reveal that she is sitting beside a rather large pile of the same packaged snack. An Instamart delivery partner spots the mountain of namkeen and asks, “Whole life with the same snack only?”
That question nudges her towards trying something different. The delivery partner introduces her to a palm-oil-free alternative, framing the change not as a dramatic overhaul but as a small switch in an otherwise familiar routine.
The campaign uses the namkeen example to make a wider point about everyday consumption: familiarity can become its own autopilot, with shoppers repeatedly choosing the same products without necessarily stopping to consider what else is available.
Mayur Hola, Head of Brand, Swiggy, said the campaign is intended to encourage exploration rather than dictate what consumers should buy. He said everyday choices are often driven by habit and that “sometimes, all it takes is a small switch to discover something better”.
The film closes with Instamart’s proposition, “Better products at better prices”, putting the emphasis on choice and alternatives rather than simply adding another product to the shopping basket.
In short, Instamart is asking shoppers to change one small thing: the next time the usual packet lands in the cart, perhaps give the switch a shot.
