BARC week 23: Telugu and Tamil markets see new entrants via Star channels

Most markets saw channels retain their places.

MUMBAI: No changes were observed in the Bengali, Bhojpuri, Malayalam and Marathi markets in BARC data for week 23. Star Suvarna and Udaya Movies exchanged their fourth and fifth positions, respectively, in the Kannada space. Star Maa Movies emerged as the new player in this space at fifth position by replacing Zee Cinemalu, in the Telugu space. Star Vijay Super emerged as the new player in the market by replacing Sun Life on the and fifth position, in the Tamil space.

Bangla

No changes were observed in the Bengali space. Zee Bangla, Star Jalsha and Jalsha Movies, Sony Aath and Aakash Aath stood at first, second, third, fourth and fifth positions respectively. Zee Bangla’s Trinayani, Didi No.1 season 8 and Krishnakoli shows were among the top three shows, followed by Ke Apon ke por and Devi Chaudhurani shows from Star Jalsha were on the fourth and fifth positions respectively.

Bhojpuri

In the Bhojpuri market as well, no changes were observed. Bhojpuri Cinema, Big Ganga, Dabangg, Bhojpuri Dhamaka Dishum and Oscar Movies Bhojpuri bagged first, second, third, fourth and fifth positions respectively. All the shows from Big Ganga were among the top five programs in the list, i.e. BJFF Deewanapan, Santoshi Maa, HFF-Nadiya ke paar, Sasuralwali Mai and Kaala Teeka.

Lakshmi Baaramma and Mangala Gowri Maduve from Colors Kannada channel secured third and fourth positions respectively. Zee Kannada’s Gattimela show stood at fifth position.
