Star Jalsha to launch two non-fiction shows; extends fiction band

MUMBAI: Star Jalsha is all set to expand its content portfolio with the launch of two new non-fiction properties. Christened, Bhayabachaka and Ebar Jalsha Rannaghare, it will hit the television screens from 3 May, 2015.

 

Additonally, the channel is also extending its two fiction programs namely Ishti Kutum and Chokher Tara Tui to seven days a week from 3 May onwards.

 

Bhyabachaka is the Bengali version of the game show Distraction. Produced by FremantleMedia, it has been produced in 16 territories worldwide including US, UK, Italy, Spain, Canada and Channel V in India.

 

The channel’s second non-fiction offering Ebar Jalsha Rannaghare is a weekly cookery show where authentic cooking is supported by a celebrity anchor who has two unique guests on a regular basis.

 

Other than the new line-up, Star Jalsha will also extend its fiction programs to Sundays, giving its viewers an undisturbed seven days of shows.

 

A Star India spokesperson says, “Our endeavor is to provide content that the whole family could enjoy on Sundays. Also whenever we have spoken with our viewers, they have always highlighted their desire of seeing non-fiction content in our channel. To fulfill this desire, we are launching two new non-fiction shows - Bhyabachaka and Ebar Jalsha Rannaghare, which are unique in their content.  We are also extending our two popular fiction shows- Ishti kutum and Choker Tara Tui to Sundays thus staying true to our core belief of Chalo Paltai.”
