In Lost Recipes, the renowned chef and author travels around the country in search of recipes and food preparations that have been forgotten over time, while exploring the history and culture of the region, and what makes those dishes special and identifiable to them. The show also uncovers fascinating stories about origins of the ingredients, bygone practices, and culinary traditions. Some recipes covered in Season 1 of the show are Pudim la Letri from Mumbai, Monsu Josyoung from Gangtok, and Kabishambardhana Barfi from Kolkata along with several others from Kutch, Hyderabad, Coorg, Srinagar, Bhopal, Puducherry, Lucknow, Goa & Delhi.

In the second season, host Aditya Bal is back on the quest and through conversations with locals and experts, he finds paths to the past, and to recipes that have are being omitted from cookbooks, and have lost their place of pride in kitchens, both humble and royal.

Speaking about the new season, Akul Tripathi, Head - Content and Programming, EPIC Channel said, “Lost Recipes has been one of our most popular shows and has an enviable following. Food is an integral part of any country’s heritage and the of India makes for a culinary extravaganza. The response by the audience and the requests for more forgotten stories of this vital part of India’s culture encouraged us to put together this second season. We hope through the show we are able to at least shine the spotlight and document, if not contribute to the revival of this precious intangible heritage.”

Celebrity chef and author Aditya Bal added, “For the second season, we have also visited remote areas to discover new people, communities, and places. The lost recipes that I have encountered on this ongoing journey with the show are nothing short of wonders. I am so glad to be part of this unique experience with EPIC Channel. This is a great way to restore and showcase India’s lost culinary culture.”

Straight from the traditional kitchens that have stood the test of time, the 10-episode season will explore delectable dishes like Dum Ke Aandey from Hampi, the once grand kingdom of Vijaynagar , Jhoda Besara from Odisha, Kodi Mamsapu Motikallu from Andhra Pradesh, Suksi Pudga and Pan Roti from Chhattisgarh, and Ukkad Amba from  Maharashtra, and dishes from North India.

Effort has been made to cook these Lost Recipes as close as possible to the known original methods, keeping the processes, ingredients and the principles intact. ‘Lost Recipes’ Season 2 is sponsored by India Gate Basmati Rice.

EPIC Channel has previously showcased an impressive plethora of shows celebrating the history and diversity of India’s food heritage through shows  like ‘Tyohaar Ki Thaali’ hosted by popular actress Sakshi Tanwar; ‘Raja Rasoi Aur Anya Kahaaniyaan’, a unique food-travel show, and ‘Raja Rasoi Aur Andaaz Anokha’, with celebrity chef Ranveer Brar.
