MUMBAI: Fox International Channels (FIC) is bringing the next mind-bending chapter of The X-Files to 60+ countries with a day & date release.
The six-episode event series helmed by creator/executive producer Chris Carter and starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as iconic FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, will air on FIC’s Fox channels immediately following the 24 January debut on Fox in the US.
The series will return as part of a two-night special event across all licensed territories within the international Fox portfolio starting on 25 January, and will reach audiences throughout Latin America in markets such as Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina; in South East Asia including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia; and markets in Europe including Bulgaria, Finland, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and Africa.
The day & date TV launch model is a staple of the Fox programming strategy for its viral, high-profile US series, including The Walking Dead, Wayward Pines, Scream Queens, Empire, and the upcoming Outcast, which FIC’s in-house studio Fox International Studios developed with Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) for Cinemax in the USA and Fox channels internationally.
The X-Files, an Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history, returns 13 years after the original series. Having originally premiered in September 1993, the series went from breakout sci-fi favorite to massive global hit, and became one of the most successful television dramas of all time. The show earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award.
Produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Ten Thirteen Productions, The X-Files is created and executive-produced by Chris Carter.
