GoNews ties up with APN For Election Day 2019

MUMBAI: India's first App-based television news channel, GoNews, and satellite TV news channel, APN, have decided to pool together their resources to cover the results of General Elections 2019.

GoNews already telecasts two half-hour news shows, 'GoPlus', on APN at 9 AM & 9 PM from Monday to Friday. It is simulcast on APN's affiliate channel, Nepal-1, besides on digital media platforms of APN & GoNews, including large third-party platforms like DailyHunt, UCWeb and Daily Motion.

The new initiative, according to a press release issued by GoNews, will strengthen the content collaboration between the two media houses and deepen their ties as they begin sharing journalistic resources and editorial & production capabilities.

Disclosing this in New Delhi on Tuesday evening, GoNews Founder & Editor-in-Chief Pankaj Pachauri said that this is the first time a digital media organization is taking its content to a satellite TV news channel in India.

"This is a reverse integration," Pachauri said. "It has been possible because we have been able to consistently create good, research-oriented content which is credible and concise. And it is heartening to note that APN values it, besides our viewers who watch us on their smart phones, tablets and smart TVs."

Pachauri also said that GoNews is happy to collaborate with credible organizations to promote good journalism because it is Co-Creative. "APN [TataSky 542] has a seasoned, wonderful team under the leadership of Rajshree and this joint offering will take well-rounded and weighty stories of the General Elections to so many more viewers," he said.

GoNews, the pioneering digital news member of the News Broadcasters Association (NBA), has logged 16.6 million video views in February this year, because of its in-depth coverage of the Indian economy at the time of the presentation of this year's interim Budget in Parliament. The website GoNews24x7.com surpasses many competitors in its stickiness and views per visitor.
