NEW DELHI: Adding to the list of exits from dentsu India, SVG Columbus COO Nitin Sabharwal has decided to move on from the agency after a stint of more than seven years.

He joined SVG Pvt Media Ltd in 2013 as SBU head for nNext, a  performance advertising platform focused on delivering consumer engagement for advertisers. When dentsu (then Dentsu Aegis Network) acquired the agency in 2017, he was retained at the post of chief business officer for SVH Columbus. A little over a year ago, he was promoted to chief operating officer.

Sabharwal announced the move in a LinkedIn post with an inspirational quote by Walt Disney, “We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths… The guy in the red shoes logs off from SVG. Hope to see all you in the market soon in a new Avatar / Destination. Thanks for all the love & support and I am sure the same will continue as always.”

Sabharwal holds an experience of more than 25 years in the brand and marketing industry. In the past, he has worked with organisations like HCL Frontline Ltd, Mediaturf, DGM India, and IndiaHomes.

Recently, Nabendu Bhattacharyya (Milestone Brandcom CEO & MD), Malvika Mehra (dentsu India CCO), Soumitra Karnik (Dentsu Impact and Happy McGarrybowen CCO), and Kanwaldeep Singh Sethi (Carat Media AVP) also departed from the company.

In related news, media reports were rife with speculation that dentsu International is in the process of letting go 6,000 global employees to deal with the Covid2019-induced market slowdown. The agency had recently consolidated its global operations too.
