Mumbai:  Firework managing director for APAC Sunil Nair has called it a day. Based in Singapore, he is now working as an investor and mentor for Uplify, as per his LinkedIn bio.

Nair stepped in at Firework, the video commerce solution company, in October 2019—he took over the reins of the Indian operations as CEO. He launched Firework in India in 2019. In his new role as managing director of APAC, he moved to Singapore in August 2022.

Prior to joining Firework, Nair was at Alt Balaji as chief operating officer for more than four years. In his role there, he was responsible for building the pure-play original video content platform, creating subscription-led businesses, and bringing real-world innovations to the OTT space in India.

He also set up Nautanki TV, the first online video distribution platform, which was later acquired by Hungama. With a career spanning over two and a half decades, he has worked at One Channel Media, Reliance Jio, and Star India.

Nair is a certified systems analyst from the National Computing Centre, UK, and also has a master’s degree in management sciences from the University of Pune.
