The BranVid 2019 Awards were instituted following the phenomenal success of the debut edition of the BrandVid Summit last year.“India is seeing an unprecedented mobile video consumption wave thanks to the very low 4G data rates and ease of access. In fact, the volume of video content being steamed on mobiles has grown ten-fold in the last couple of years, and marketers are scrambling to keep pace with the growing demand for quality content and create meaningful brand narratives that consumers return to over and over again. In that context, the BrandVid Awards is an excellent platform that recognizes the best in class in brand films, brand integration and branded programming. It’s a prestigious arena that brings together the best in class in the space, from content studios and brands to advertising agencies and publishers,” says Nykaa chief content officer Madhavi Irani.

“I think it’s great that we have an award that is dedicated to recognising excellence in branded videos and films. Content is the future and the BrandVid Award is a platform that promotes, encourages and rewards content creators and aggregators giving the young talent to shine through and showcase their work on a national stage,” points out Ogilvy Group Creative Director George Koover.

BrandVid Awards have been conceptualised in alignment with the swiftly changing media landscape.

“As lines between content creators, collaborators, distributors and distribution platforms are getting blurred or synched, the amazing thing of this platform (BrandVid Awards) is that they are among the first ones to have recognised this convergence and created a platform which treats all stake holder on parity,” highlights Friday Filmworks head digital Devendra Deshpande.

Increasingly, brand custodians are adding a new communication tool to their promotional mix - the brand film.

“To have a special Awards night dedicated to Branded Video is testament to the fact that Branded Video is and will continue to be the future of brand communication for some time. The awards continue to draw attention to an art form/discipline that is still relatively ambiguous. Showcasing
the best of work sets a standard for others. Most importantly, it brings like-minded people together in one space, to share and build with a common passion” L&K Saatchi & Saatchi national creative director Rohit Malkani argues.

Another key objective of BrandVid Awards is to stimulate the conversation surrounding branded video content and entertainment.

“BrandVid Awards is great platform to bring together industry stalwarts and best minds in the craft to celebrate outstanding work and discuss the future of branded content,” Leo Burnett India chief creative officer south Asia Rajdeepak Das.

With the execution of the first-ever BrandVid Awards, Indiantelevision.com hopes to establish a credible set awards for the sector that is bound to witness exponential growth and innovation on the branded video front in years ago.

“With the sheer amount of video content being churned out today, it's easy to fall into the trap of commoditization. I see BrandVid Awards as a creator of much-needed quality benchmarks for this rapidly growing industry,” Lowe Lintas chief creative officer Prateek Bhardwaj adds.
